The Experience

When I come to a session, it’s never just about taking pictures… I want to really see you, your family, the little things that make you yours. The quiet glances, the laughter that comes out of nowhere, the way everyone just fits together. That’s when the photos start to feel like you.

I do take a few of those classic smiling-at-the-camera photos for grandma's fridge or your classic holiday card. But for the rest of your session, I'll be looking for the little moments… the hand grabs, the sideways glances, the tiny gestures that feel like your family. Those are my favorite shots to walk away from a session with, eager to get edited so I can show you and say "look how beautiful your family is!!".

I’ll guide you a little to make sure we stay on track and sometimes I’ll step back and just capture as many little moments that play out as I can. But mostly, I want you to just be. Because life is sweet and fast and messy... and I want to catch all of that for you to hold onto.

Here's how we'll bring your vision to life together.
Meet me at the agreed upon location during your scheduled time and let's do this thing! I will come with plenty of posing ideas, but if you have any favorite poses of your own, have some screenshots pulled up and ready so we can do our best to recreate them. If you're anything like me, you might feel uncomfortable with a camera pointed at you, but I promise to make your session as painless as possible! In fact - it's a personal goal of mine to make it so you're walking back to your car thinking, "dang, that was actually kind of fun!"

I'll ask some general questions and request information about timing for your session. This is your opportunity to tell me as much as you'd like about your vision for the session - describing the overall vibe, sending a link to your Pinterest board, attaching pictures of color palettes, etc. Any inspiration you share will make it that much easier for me to recreate the vibe you're going for. Once we figure out the general scope and nail down a day/time that works, I will email the booking link to confirm your session. Yay - the hard part is over!

Within 2 weeks of your session, you will receive an email from me with a link to your digital album. You will be able to view, share and download pictures from your session from there. Feel free to reach out to let me know how you like them!

Start by reviewing my packages and select one that is the best fit for you then click the "Contact Me" button in my website's menu. You'll be prompted to answer a few quick questions then submit your inquiry. Look out for an email from me within 1-2 business days. Make sure to check your spam if you don't see a response!

FAQ

Of course! Just note that some rental studios charge a pet fee or don't allow pets at all, so let me know ahead of time and we'll pick a location that works for everyone, four-legged family included.

Can we bring pets?

Simply reach out through my website via the "Get In Touch" button and fill out a short form so I can get an idea of the type of session you're interested in. I'll follow up via email to plan, answer any questions you might have and find a convenient date and time for your session.

How do I book a photography session with you?

Yes, sessions within 20 miles of Asheville are included. Beyond that, a travel fee applies. If you'd like an idea of what that fee might be for your location, feel free to request a quote on your contact form.

Do you travel for sessions? Is there a travel fee?

You get the full digital gallery with print rights, plus the option to order prints, albums, and wall art through my print shop.

Do you offer prints, albums, or just digital files?

Yes, I'll send a style guide after booking with color and outfit ideas. General rule: coordinate, don't match, and skip busy logos or patterns.

What should we wear? Do you offer wardrobe guidance?

If the weather doesn't cooperate on the day of an outdoor shoot, we can discuss alternatives such as rescheduling the session or finding an indoor location. I want to ensure the best possible outcome for your photos and do my best to be flexible in adapting to unforeseen circumstances.

What if we have to reschedule due to weather, illness, or emergency?

Following your session, all images are individually and extensively retouched with thorough attention to detail. Each package includes the high-resolution digital files that can be downloaded through a secure gallery.

How will I receive my photos?

You will receive a link via email to your online gallery within 2 weeks of your session. Need a few sooner for a card or announcement? Just ask and I will do my best to accommodate - additional fees may apply.

How long does it take to receive the final edited photos?

I shoot on location (parks, overlooks, beaches, your home) or in a rented studio space, whichever fits your family's style. I have a few studio go-tos I love, or we can pick an outdoor spot that's meaningful to you.
